What are the Deborah Dialogues?

Dinner and conversation.

Meeting Jewish women in Houston who you never knew.

Thinking.

Learning.

Mentoring.

Deborah Dialogues is a multi-generational program that is enriched by the presence of women who have many life experiences, few life experiences and everything in between.

We welcome women of all ages and encourage conversation among everyone.  Women who are between the ages of 22-35 receive a book that the dialogist has chosen as one that has been influential in her life (or that she's written!)

The Dialogues begin again in September.

The Talmud says:

"It is incumbent upon parents to teach their children to swim"

IJW and Planned Parenthood say:

"It is incumbent upon parents to teach their kids about sexuality.  It's a safety thing because it's a real thing."

Nationally renowned broadcast journalist Susan Stamberg is special correspondent for NPR. Stamberg is the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program, and has won every major award in broadcasting. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame.  Stamberg served as co-host of NPR's award-winning newsmagazine All Things Considered for 14 years.

Her interviewing has been called "fresh," "friendly, down-to-earth," and (by novelist E.L. Doctorow) "the closest thing to an enlightened humanist on the radio." Her thousands of interviews include conversations with Laura Bush, Billy Crystal, Rosa Parks, Dave Brubeck, and Luciano Pavarotti.
